Brian Harris Krinsky is a graduate of the MFA Program in Film and TV Production from the University of Southern California (1999) and also holds a BA in Journalism from the University of Maryland, College Park (1993).


Most recently, Krinsky wrote, produced and directed the short film DISH, a glimpse into the day-in-a-life of Latino teenagers living in East Los Angeles. DISH had its world premier at the 2009 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah followed by a European premier at the 2009 Berlin International Film Festival in Berlin, Germany.  After screening in Berlin, DISH was selected by the prestigious Arté TV Channel for a June 19th 2009 broadcast in France and Germany. DISH received the 2009 “Audience Award” Short Film at NEWFEST: The New York LGBT Film Festival, the 2009 “Jury Award” Best Short Film at Skeive Filmer: Oslo Gay & Lesbian Film Festival, 2nd Place Best Film at the 2009 Indianapolis LGBT Film Festival and was  “shortlisted” for the 2009 Iris Prize for Best International Short Film held in Cardiff Wales.  DISH continues to screen in festivals around the world.  Krinsky has expanded DISH into a feature film. Most recently, he was selected to bring DISH (the feature screenplay) into the upcoming 2010 FILM INDEPENDENT’S Directors Lab.   He encourages anyone interested in reading the screenplay to contact him at dishthemovie@gmail.com.


From 1993 to 1995, Krinsky, who speaks Russian, worked at the foreign news desks of ABC News and the Associated Press TV in Moscow.  During his extended stay in Russia, he traveled throughout the country, including Vladivostok and the Black Sea region.  In the summer of 1998, Krinsky returned to Russia in the role of producer onUndesirables”, a documentary profiling homeless children in Russia, which garnered a student Emmy nomination and  2nd place at the College Academy TV Awards 2000 and screened at such notable film festivals as Cannes Film Festival, Doubleday Documentary Film Festival, United Nations Human Rights Campaign Film Festival and Slamdance Film Festival. 


Additionally, Krinsky is developing several original TV series for the Russian television market, including two telenovelas,“House of Sozonov” and “Pampered”, and the sci-fi series, “Red Mercury”.  Treatments for these are available in English and Russian upon request.  


Krinsky resides in Los Angeles, California working as a freelance Producer/Director in non-fiction/reality programming.  Most recently he worked on ABC’s “Shark Tank” for Mark Burnett Productions.   His network credits include Discovery Channel, MTV, BET, ABC, PBS, Bravo, TLC, E!, Oxygen and Travel Channel.
